Los Angeles nightlife: Hotspots for singles

The singles scene in Los Angeles, California is quite large, and sometimes one that many people find dangerous or unsavory. Still, with a little planning, knowledge and forethought, being single in Los Angeles can be fun!

“Saddle Ranch”

This singles hotspot is located on the famed Sunset Strip in Hollywood and is one of the hottest places to be pretty much any night of the week. The drinks are poured generously, the atmosphere is safe and comfortable, the place is packed almost every night of the week…and don’t forget that they have an actual mechanical bull for you to make a fool of yourself…er…I mean have a good time on!

“Whiskey Blue”

Located on Hilgard Street in Westwood, this decadent lounge located in the famed “W Hotel” is one of the swankiest singles hang-outs in town. An espresso bar by day and a dimly lit lounge by night, this place has it all! It’s packed most of the time, and hotel guests tend to have an easier time getting in, but if you’re there early you’ll probably find your way inside.

A Tequila Bar with a twist! Located on Hollywood Blvd, this red-glow fantasy land offers over 300 different types of tequila. When it comes to singles, this scene is hot, as it’s not just your everyday dance club or party spot, it’s actually got some upscale flair.

“Aqua Restaraunt and Lounge”

Located in Beverly Hills, this swanky hotspot is the place to be for singles of the thirty-something crowd. With a somewhat underground feel and a tantalizing blue glow, this lounge will certainly offer a memorable experience, in both dining and nightlife.

“Roof Bar at the Standard”

This lounge is located in the famed Standard Hotel on Sunset, and has managed to mix modern with retro to create a simply amazing place for mingling, meeting and sipping divine cocktails. There are a good amount of “vintage clothed” regulars who frequent this Hollywood hotspot, but if you’re single in LA, this is a place you have to try.

“Universal City Walk”

The City Walk might seem like a “kiddy” place by day, but by night there is a vast number of swingin’ singles ready to party in the multiple club options. Just walk down the neon “street” and you’re sure to find groups of singles ready to help show you a good time.

In the end, being single in Los Angeles can be great fun, but you must take all the right precautions to ensure your safety. Never go home with someone that you have just met, always go out with a friend or a group of friends that you can trust not to leave you, keep an eye on your drink at all times and never accept a drink bought for you unless you watch the bartender pour it. Visit the above hotspots and have a good time, but remember to be safe!
